About UNRECONCILED
UNRECONCILED, an 80-minute solo play, takes audiences on a magic carpet ride through parental love, confusion, and resilience during difficult times. It paints a moving portrait of life in a sports-crazed, Irish Catholic suburb of Philadelphia in the 1980s.
Based on the true story of a 13-year-old boy cast as Jesus in his school’s Passion Play, directed by a parish priest, the play chronicles a survivor’s journey as he confronts his past, navigates a victims’ reparations program set up by the Catholic Church, and discovers the courage to use his voice.
Winner of the Berkshire Theatre Critics Association Awards for Outstanding Solo Performance and Outstanding Premiere of a New Play, UNRECONCILED has garnered critical acclaim in both the United States and Europe. Critics have called the show “theater at its finest,” “simply extraordinary artistry,” and “masterful . . . lightning in a bottle on stage—a thunderously impactful one-man show.” UNRECONCILED has galvanized audiences from New York to
The 2025 CHILD USA “Sean P. McIlmail Hero” Award, recognizing outstanding contributions to survivor advocacy and statute of limitations reform.
The SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests) “Survivor Advocate Award,” acknowledging the play’s impact in lifting survivor voices and catalyzing community dialogue.
The 2024 Berkshire Theatre Critics Association Awards for Outstanding Solo Performance and Outstanding World Premiere of a New Play.
